ESD capable Conveyor Systems

Customer's requirement:

The system is to be designed in compliance with standards. The applicable standard is: IEC 61340-n as an internationally recognized standard for ESD protection. In addition, there are customer-specific requirements that must be taken into account.

Here, first of all, classify the product on its sensitivity. This then results in a requirement profile for the production plants.

Approaches to the solution:

Since QuickMOVE is a non-standardized product / system in the sense of the ESD requirements (For QuickMOVE itself, we have chosen a modular approach with mainly standardized components, which are flexibly built according to the customer's requirements.), the concrete requirement profile had to be determined first. This was done in a workshop together with the customer's ESD specialist. Initial test measurements will then show concrete solutions.

Realization of the plant:

Here, particular attention was paid to:
A continuous grounding and thus equipotential bonding of the entire system has been laid.
Painted surfaces that are in contact with the employees have been coated with special ESD powder.
It was ensured that there are no storage areas that may not be dissipative.
The protective enclosures used at the stations (mk Technology Group) were designed to be ESD capable.
In the case of system components that are in close contact with the components, the so-called leakage resistance had to be sufficiently taken into account. For this purpose, plastics were used to ensure constant discharge of any loads that may occur at the transport units (Murtfeldt.com).
In the case of switching elements and control cabinets, appropriate attention has also been paid to sensible positioning and measures.
